Growth Charts - Clinical Application
Implementation of customised antenatal growth charts into
clinical practice has been found to improve detection
of fetal growth problems while reducing unnecessary interventions
(see Literature). The
RCOG Green Top Guideline 31 (PDF) recommends serial
fundal height measurement using customised growth charts.
However, their effectiveness can be compromised if protocols
are not being adhered to, including a standardised method
of fundal height measurement and recommendations for
referral.
The Perinatal Institute offers training
prior to implementation of customised charts into clinical
practice. For further information, please contact Claire
